Fashion Diva

Abby does not wear dresses in the summer when it is nice and warm out.  Instead, she prefers to wait until the middle of winter to wear her summer clothes.  When she wakes up in the morning, she gets dressed in her normal clothing for the day.  This set of clothes lasts from between 1-2 hours.  Then she spies a dress and decides that it is time to shuck the day's clothing and wear a summery, breezy outfit.  This happens nearly everyday.  She has about 5 different favorite dresses that she rotates as the fancy strikes her.  This first one makes the cut every once in awhile, but it is not a complete favorite.  It's still fun to be a princess every once in awhile.
The Indian dress I made her for Halloween is in the top two.  Ana likes to wear hers as well when Abby decides to shuck traditional winter clothing.  Of course one does not wear warm clothes underneath while wearing this or any other dress.  I made them wear warm clothes underneath for Halloween trekking though.
Abby didn't feel like posing for this one, but here is the #3 favorite choice.  She claimed this from Ana's side of the closet, which is okay since Ana does not ever want to wear it.  Purple velvet.  At least this one is warmer than her others.
Below is #1 favorite "dress".  It is actually a shirt that Ana got in a pile of hand-me-downs.  Abby fell in love with it the moment she spied the jewel buttons on front (doesn't show well here in this picture) and wears it at every moment possible - when not sporting any other dresses.  I guess every girl needs a little black dress.
Sometimes we forget about dresses and go for the superhero look by wearing underwear on the outside of our clothing and on top of our heads.  Why not?
And this last picture of Abby is of a dragon she drew this morning on our little white board while I was doing school with the other two.  I was impressed.  This is the first time she's tried drawing one.  It's complete with wings, spikes and fire coming from its mouth.  She was so pleased with herself.  She hadn't changed out of her traditional clothing yet.
And finally here's a picture of Joey for you since I haven't talked about him lately.  I keep trying to get a picture/video of him while he's doing this, but the moment I get the camera on, he turns around and sits here like this.  He does not like the second hand on the clock pictured above him.  He stands up on his hind feet and tries with all his might to get at the second hand that keeps ticking away behind the glass.  He hasn't been successful yet.  It amuses me to see him try.

  1. Looks like the princess's crown is so heavy she can't hold her head up. What a cutie! And such a dignified cat Joey is! Love that dragon too! MomK

  2. Have you read the book Mennonite in a Little Black Dress? I've just read the first chapter and it's a real hoot. MomK
