Turns out it wasn't such a good idea...

It had been awhile since Keilah's dog had a bath, so I had the brilliant idea of having Keilah help with putting Dog in the washer for his bath. It was all fun and games until the door closed and beloved Dog was now trapped inside the machine. Not even Back-up Dog could bring comfort. Am I a mean mom for documenting her anguish instead of rushing to comfort her?  She was soon distracted by eating lunch and only cried a little bit here and there for then next while whenever she saw the washer and remembered that Dog was in there. Once Dog was all clean, their reunion was sweet and joyful. Lesson learned - continue to sneak Dog into the washer while Keilah is unaware.

Stuck, Races, Birthdays, and Dads

Summer vacation is lovely. We have lazy mornings. The kids do some chores around the house. I garden. We play ball games in the evening. There are days when we don't have anything to do. They were both very proud of themselves as they should be. I was proud of them too! 6 days later, they ran a 5K race and considering how hard they've been training and running lately, they both did awesome a

Let the Summer Fun Begin!

Well, it appears that I haven't written for awhile. Whoops. Track kept me busy, but it's now over. We ended the season as conference champs in both 7th and 8th grade (oh yeah!) It was piles of fun and I can't wait for next year. Despite what people often say, I think middle school girls are awesome! Today was the last day of school, so summer has officially started now! I'm looking forward to slower days and a relaxed daily schedule. Garden season is gearing up now and soon I'll be eating lots of yummy things from my backyard. And now for pictures... Sundays are hard on Keilah as they interfere with nap time. Here she couldn't make it through lunch before succumbing to precious sleep. That's sad, because Sunday-pizza-for-lunch time is the only time she will eat any sort of meat. She continues to stop whatever cute thing it was that I was trying to get a picture of the moment she sees me get the camera. I have piles of pictures of her doing this and no
