Christmas Doings

Here is a post full of pictures of a few things we've done the past few weeks. First is a quick video of Keilah and her knee walking. She's been walking on her knees for quite awhile now. All of her friends that are her age or younger are walking on their feet, but I guess it feels too tall and scary to stand up and walk. However, just this past week, she's been walking more on her feet finally, though she will usually drop to her knees once she is close to her destination and finish off with knee walking. Abby had medieval day at school. All the girls were supposed to be princesses, royal ladies, or peasants for the day. That made Abby sad, so she asked for special permission to be Joan of Arc. Her teacher said yes and happily Aaron set to work making her armor. They looked up her coat of arms and had me paint it on her shield. It all turned out quite well and Abby was one happy knight. Keilah very happily and quietly emptied out the wipes bag before anyone noti

One Year

This is me just a bit over a year ago. Ugh. That's painful just to look at it. But all the discomfort of pregnancy was so worth it for the precious little girl we got in the end. We had a pretty low key birthday party for Keilah. A lot of it had to do with the fact that her little throwing up episode spread to the rest of the family and we spent Thanksgiving on rotation with it going through our ranks. So we did Thanksgiving weekend in shifts - Aaron and I took turns staying home from family gatherings with whoever had thrown up that day or night. But by Friday night, we were all feeling good enough to be together and celebrate Keilah's birthday. I made her a dog cake. I was very pleased with how it turned out. Usually my cakes look like total failures, but I am actually kind of proud of this one. You should all be very impressed with my cake making and decorating skills. I'll take a moment to bask in your praise. Keilah liked looking at her cake and barking at it.
