Christmas Doings

Here is a post full of pictures of a few things we've done the past few weeks. First is a quick video of Keilah and her knee walking. She's been walking on her knees for quite awhile now. All of her friends that are her age or younger are walking on their feet, but I guess it feels too tall and scary to stand up and walk. However, just this past week, she's been walking more on her feet finally, though she will usually drop to her knees once she is close to her destination and finish off with knee walking.
Abby had medieval day at school. All the girls were supposed to be princesses, royal ladies, or peasants for the day. That made Abby sad, so she asked for special permission to be Joan of Arc. Her teacher said yes and happily Aaron set to work making her armor. They looked up her coat of arms and had me paint it on her shield. It all turned out quite well and Abby was one happy knight.
Keilah very happily and quietly emptied out the wipes bag before anyone noticed what she was doing.
Shredding a napkin on the floor. Again very quietly and happily.
Our annual "gingerbread" house making and decorating.
Lots of Christmas cookies have been made and decorated and eaten.
Keilah trying to help decorate the Christmas tree.
Most ornaments are high above Keilah's reach this year. Only a few non breakable ones are within her reach. She loves them.
The girls enjoy stuffing their jammies with as many blankets and stuffed animals as possible (Abby usually gets the most in her jammies). The first time they did that it was "to keep Daddy from tickling us". It has become a nightly ritual now. :) I threaten to have them stop eating so many cookies and candy and ice cream until they lose all that weight that they suddenly gained. They think it's hilarious. And they are still ticklish through all their layers
Abby was a sheep at our church's Christmas play. My friend knitted these adorable hats for all the sheep. They all looked so precious!
Christmas morning present opening! Ana got the Brick Bible set. It's pretty awesome if you're looking for a fun gift to give a Lego lover. Ana also got a kid's bow and arrow set that she is anxious to try out. She already has plans to try out for the 2020 summer Olympics in archery.
Keilah got this doll and a little feeding set to go with it. She likes the feeding set and likes to feed all of us with her spoon and bowl and bottle.
David got a fun party board game called Quelf. We enjoyed trying it out on Christmas afternoon with some of our dinner guests who stayed later. He also got a bit of money to add to his laptop fund.
Abby got a "girl Lego" set and my dad made her an awesome bunk bed for her doll while I made a mattress, pillow, and quilt for it.
All in all, we had a great Christmas. We had a fun time with our own family in the morning, then had a number of friends over for a Christmas feast, and then spent the evening relaxing at my parent's house. Definitely busy, but full of all the things I love!
The remainder of this year will continue to be full of the things I love - my four kiddos home with no school, cozy winter evenings with the family, time for friends, and lots of baking!
May you take the time this coming week to do the things you love and to enjoy the things you do!
